Daventry, UK, 16th September 2024 – The Mansel Davies Group is a family-owned haulage business operating out of a small village, Llanfyrnach, near the old market town of Crymych, Pembrokeshire. Originally formed in 1875, the company has been a goods and freight supplier since 1900, initially with horse and cart and then by truck. Kaye Mansel Davies joined the business in 1959 taking over at the helm in 1963. The company now employs 300 staff and owns 150 vehicles and 250 trailers.
Hankook is already a major supplier of tyres to the haulage company and Director of MDS Distribution Limited, Mr. Scott Davies said, “Our experience with Hankook is very positive and that is why we chose the Hankook tyres for this commemorative vehicle. As a company operating transportation across the UK and Ireland, it is of the utmost importance for our company to have tyres that provide excellent reliability and mileage. We have been using Hankook truck tyres for over two years now for all positions on our fleet utilising the AH51, AM15+ and for the trailers the TH31 tyres and are seeing the benefits with a longer lifespan, reduced fuel consumption and reduced downtime.”
Jon Cottrell, UK Truck Sales Manager for Hankook Tyre UK commented, “This commemorative truck is a great tribute to the legacy of Kaye Mansel Davies MBE and having Hankook AL51 and DL51 tyres fitted to this truck is an honour for our company. Our Smartflex tyres offer the highest possible performance from the first to the last millimetre of tread depth and like all modern Hankook truck tyres, the AH51 and DH51 treads can be regrooved and are retreadable. Hankook continually reflects on the challenges faced by the haulage industry and invests heavily in tyre technology to design tyres to meet the ever-increasing demands made on today’s professional commercial vehicle operator.”
