Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo 3 tyre on new campaign vehicle for the 2022 "TUNE IT! SAFE!”

Safe and legal tuning is the hallmark of the annual "TUNE IT! SAFE!” event. Hankook has been the main sponsor and partner since 2005 and is providing the tyres for the new 2022 campaign vehicle. Following two BMW models and an Audi vehicle from previous years, this time the tyre maker is fitting a TECHART GT police car with its Ventus S1 evo 3 ultra-high performance (UHP) tyres for the coming year. The official unveiling will again take place at the Essen Motor Show at the VDAT stand.

Essen, Germany, 26 November 2021 – Tuners and car enthusiasts will be welcomed at this years Essen Motor Show before Christmas. Premium tyre maker Hankook has been the official partner of the "TUNE IT! SAFE!" event of the VDAT (Association of Automobile Tuners), which promotes legal and safe tuning with the support of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI). Tyres are always one of the first things considered when it comes to tuning. That’s why this year’s TECHART campaign car (based on the Porsche 911 Targa 4) is fitted with Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 UHP tyres in the sizes 255/35ZR20 (FA) and 315/30ZR21 (RA).

“Since 2005, Hankook has been successfully promoting road safety as the main sponsor and exclusive tyre partner of the TUNE IT! SAFE! event. I am particularly pleased to be able to have our campaign ambassador showing Hankook tyres at this year’s Essen Motor Show once again. With the Ventus S1 evo 3, the TECHART GT has the right ultra-high performance tyres to drive sportily and responsibly through the new campaign year,” says Roland Hehner, Head of Product and Tuning at Hankook Reifen Deutschland.

The police car optimised by TECHART for the tuning community includes a front spoiler, airframes, side skirts, aero wings and matching Hankook tyres. It not only features an impressive sporty look, but can also open its roof for the first time in the history of the initiative. The TECHART GT also has strong performance characteristics and a sport spring kit lowers the vehicle level by up to 40mm.

Tyres play a key role when it comes to road safety, which is why the “TUNE IT! SAFE!” police car is fitted with Ventus S1 evo 3 tyres for 2022. The company’s current flagship UHP tyre has consistently ranked at the top of many tyre tests since its release including winning the recent Summer 2021 Tyre Test by renowned UK car magazine Auto Express. The tread achieved excellent results in all categories, as well as demonstrating top performance in wet braking and handling. Last year’s “TUNE IT! SAFE!” Vehicles, the 850i xDrive Coupé (2021), the ABT RS4-R (2020) and the BMW i8 (2019), were also fitted with this tyre and relied on the qualities it offered.
