Daventry, UK, 19th June 2023 - EG Wholesale in partnership with Hankook Tyre UK hosted the annual prestigious charity golf day at the renowned Goodwood Golf Club in West Sussex on the 18th May 2023. Forty-eight representatives from the tyre and motor industry took part in the competition, making up twelve teams of four, including two teams from Hankook Tyre UK. Hankook presented each golfer with a sleeve of Titleist golf balls, golf tees, scorecard holder and baseball cap.
The winning team was Tates Motor Group, a family run car dealership for more than one hundred years, comprising Mark Thomas (Finance Manager), Frank Wheatland (BDM), Anthony Wilcock (Group Body Shop Manager) and James Hartshorn (Sales Manager). Andrew Mitchell, Sales Manager at EG Wholesale presented the Hankook sponsored prize of four VIP hospitality tickets to a UEFA Europa League or Europa Conference League UK home game in the group stage of the 2023/24 season.
Andrew commented, “This is the third year EG Wholesale has held a Charity Golf Day in partnership with Hankook Tyre UK and once again we were really thrilled with their support to make the day a great success. Funds raised at the event were donated to our charity of choice, the Mary How Trust, and we were delighted with the total of £1255.”
The Mary How Trust is based in Pulborough Sussex and was founded in June 1988 in memory of Mary How. The charity trust provides affordable health screening services to anyone in the UK to detect early signs of cancer, as well as screening for other health issues. Jason Parker, Regional Sales Manager for Hankook, organised a chipping competition at the event which saw Steve Allen from EG Wholesale winning the Hankook golf bag and bundle. The £235 raised was donated to the Mary How Trust.

Although the Hankook teams did not play the best golf, the day itself was fantastic and enjoyed by all who attended, and all in support of the Mary How Trust Charity.”
