
Neu-Isenburg, Germany, 15th October 2024 Since July 2024, premium tyre manufacturer Hankook has been a full member of the Global Data Service Organisation for Tyres and Automotive Components (GDSO). The international non-profit association promotes the digital standardisation and easier sharing of data in the tyre and automotive sector and offers tyre manufacturers and other organisations in the tyre value chain access to sector-specific data systems. The digital sharing of tyre data and its efficient use take place via the GDSO’s dataspace using a dedicated connector. Hankook’s membership emphasises the company’s enduring commitment to advancing the tyre sector through technical innovations.
“With our full membership of the GDSO, we want to make our contribution to the organisation’s goal of setting new standards for the efficient processing of tyre data in the digital age. This includes providing reliable and accurate data for the tyre dataspace,” says Klaus Krause, Vice President and Head of Europe Technical Center at Hankook.
The association also welcomes the addition of the premium tyre manufacturer: “With Hankook, the GDSO has gained another strong partner that is committed to digitalisation and sustainability in the sector. Together, we will work to improve the standards in the area of data processing and to develop future-oriented solutions,” says Riccardo Giovannotti, GDSO Secretary General.
About the GDSO
Established in January 2022 the Global Data Service Organisation for Tyres and Automotive Components, is an international non-profit association, aiming to:
- standardise data related to tyres and define solutions to access and exchange them
- develop solutions tackling online tyre data access
- establish worldwide agreement on a webservice to facilitate data access by stakeholders
- promote the use of GDSO Services to tyre manufacturers and external stakeholders
- represent the members in regard to external bodies/organisations.
