Neu-Isenburg, Germany, 9th May 2025 – Electrifying victory in the all-rounder class: The Hankook iON FlexClimate received a clear purchase recommendation in the Auto Bild EV all-season tyre check (16 April 2025 issue) and achieved top marks in the safety-relevant categories without compromising on driving fun. The testers compared Hankook’s premium tyre designed specifically for electric vehicles against two other competitor tyres in the size 245/45 R 19, carefully examining them across ten categories. The result? There is no way around the Hankook iON FlexClimate in six individual categories, and it is also top in the other test categories. The most telling performance was in the particularly important category “performance in the wet”, where the Hankook iON FlexClimate clearly set itself apart from its competitors by achieving top place in all four individual criteria with the highest rating for braking distance, handling, behaviour in aquaplaning and aquaplaning when cornering.
Hankook iON FlexClimate: leading the way on dry surface too
On dry surface, the testers confirmed the “agile steering behaviour” and “good balance” of the Hankook premium tyre in terms of driving dynamics, which led to the best result for handling. The iON FlexClimate also recorded the shortest braking distance on dry road as well as an equally good result for rolling resistance, which is a critical factor in terms of vehicle range. The result? First place with an overall score of 1.4. Here’s what the tyre testers had to say: “This all-rounder delivers balanced performance at the highest level for safe driving in all weather conditions. Its good driving dynamics do not compromise on driving fun”.
Backed by an unreserved purchase recommendation from the product testers, Hankook reinforces its top position amongst its competitors. In recent weeks, the premium manufacturer has achieved outstanding results in comparisons of both its passenger car and truck tyre portfolios. In March, the Hankook iON evo performed exceptionally well in the Auto Bild EV summer tyre test, in which the Auto Bild car testers put eight competitor tyres in the size 215/55 R 18 through their paces and voted the Hankook tyre the overall winner.
