Sustainability - Statement Massimo Cialone

“The high proportion of natural oils in the mixture not only makes the iON products more sustainable overall, but also has a positive effect on the durability and wear of the tread.

We use both renewable and recycled raw materials for our iON products. Silica can be obtained from rice waste ash and we use cashew shells for bio-based resin. Other examples include recycled PET textile cord and circular or biocircular polymers. Tthere are many other promising and highly interesting developments in recycling such as carbon black, an enormously important raw material for tyre production. A single car tyre can contain up to three kilograms carbon black which We are able to extract from used tyres using environmentally friendly pyrolysis."

Hankook Tire manufactures innovative, high-performance tyres for passenger cars, SUVs, light trucks, RVs, trucks, buses and motorsports.
