AI in Tyre Development - Statement Klaus Krause

AI is a tool that we are continually incorporating into our practices at Hankook. It can utilise large amounts of data to make faster predictions and accelerates virtual test procedures, delivering much faster results. Simulation will increasingly replace or supplement real testing in the coming years, but will not be eliminated completely. The effect of these methods will become apparent in the coming years with particular reference to the influence of AI on materials research, and development of new compounds. In the past, digital simulations, would sometimes take days to form a new compound, however, with the introduction of AI, this can now be done in seconds meaning we can quickly select whether a development direction is right or wrong. This advanced technology supports our decision-making, but the final judgment on what is successful or not is still made by our experts.
