Neu-Isenburg, Germany, 22 October 2025 – Premium tyre manufacturer Hankook achieved strong results in the current winter tyre tests: the Hankook Winter i*cept RS3 for compact SUVs and mid-class passenger cars, Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 for passenger cars and Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 X for SUVs scored well in five comparisons with balanced performance, excellent safety reserves and impressive efficiency.

Hankook Winter i*cept RS3: safe handling under adverse conditions

The Hankook Winter i*cept RS3 in the popular 215/55 R17 size finished the Auto Bild Allrad winter tyre test for compact SUV models with the rating “exemplary” (16^th October 2025 issue). After a total of twelve tests, the testers’ concluded “braking expert on snow-covered and wet roads, high traction on snow”. The Hankook Winter i*cept RS3 set the best marks among all winter tyres in the test for braking on snow and wet roads, in the aquaplaning evaluations, on the wet circular track and for dry handling.

The tyre was also rated “very good” in the auto, motor und sport winter tyre test for estates and small SUVs, once again in the 215/55 R17 size (25^th September 2025 issue): “Shortest braking distance on snow, safe cornering in the wet, best protection against aquaplaning. Very precise driving characteristics, almost akin to those of a summer tyre, with plenty of reserves in dry corners”, praised the magazine.

Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3: good marks on snow and minimal wear

Top marks were also awarded to the Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 in the widely used 225/40 R18 size for sporty compact models. In the Auto Bild big winter tyre comparison (9^th October 2025 issue), the premium tyre achieved the mark “good”. The tyre played to its strengths in particular with regard to handling and traction on snow. The verdict was “snow expert” and “great value for money”. The Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 also impressed in the “aquaplaning during cornering on wet surface” discipline with the best lateral acceleration value of all the tyres tested.

The Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 in the 225/40 R18 size was also rated “good” by the ADAC. The testers of Europe’s largest automobile association rated the environment and cost categories especially positively: “The Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 offers a very high predicted mileage and exhibits minimal wear. Its efficiency is also impressive, thanks to low weight and fuel consumption.” In the safety-relevant categories, the tyre also achieved good marks on wet and dry road surfaces.

Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 X: SUV tyre at its best

The Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 X in the 235/50 R19 size also performed strongly overall in the Auto Bild Sportscars winter tyre test for sporty SUV models (11/2025 issue), where it also achieved the mark “good”. The testers’ verdict was “all-rounder with consistently good performance in all rating categories”. The Hankook tyre passed, in particular, the safety-relevant braking on snow and braking in the wet tests with flying colours. It was also one of the best in the slalom test on snow.
